Trump delivers closing midterm message at Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool
President Donald Trump held his closing midterm campaign event at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool on Monday afternoon, hours before polls opened nationwide. The event marked his final pitch to voters ahead of the midterm elections with control of Congress at stake. Trump subsequently criticized the backlash to the event on Election Day.
NBC News covered the event as live coverage of the administration's closing midterm message without editorial commentary.
The Hill framed the event as Trump's final pitch to voters to boost Republican support as control of Congress hangs in the balance, noting he chose an unconventional venue.
Right-leaning outlets characterized it as Trump's closing message for the midterm elections and highlighted the newly reopened Reflecting Pool venue, while also noting the project's history of delays and cost problems.
