Trump, DOJ Appeal $83.3M E. Jean Carroll Defamation Verdict to Supreme Court

President Trump and the Department of Justice have petitioned the Supreme Court to review an $83.3 million defamation award won by writer E. Jean Carroll in a lawsuit alleging sexual assault and defamation. The Supreme Court recently declined to hear Trump's appeal of a separate $5 million verdict in Carroll's favor.
