Senate confirms Jay Clayton as director of national intelligence

The U.S. Senate voted 51-47 along party lines Tuesday to confirm Jay Clayton as director of national intelligence. Clayton, a federal prosecutor, will oversee 18 intelligence agencies and succeeds Bill Pulte in the role.
